UP govt’s primary thrust on improving healthcare
A day after the Allahabad High Court slammed the state government commenting that healthcare services were ‘Ram Bharose’ in Uttar Pradesh, government spokesman Shishir Kumar said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s primary thrust was not only to improve the state’s healthcare system but also to provide latest technology for treating patients.
In view of the increase in the number of patients due to rising road accidents in the state, beds were expanded in the trauma centers of Level-1. Considering the SGPGI and KGMU’s Trauma Center, the number of beds and ventilators has been increased. With the commitment to provide affordable and up-to-date medical facilities to the people of Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has planned to construct a medical college in each of the 75 districts of UP. Also his novel concept of Jan Arogya Mela is also a similar endeavour to take health services close to the homes of the people. In this sequence, the government has planned to open medical colleges on the public-private-partnership (PPP) model in 16 districts of the state that do not have any college till now,
