- Soon, app to track activities in UP government schools
- In a move that education officials say will keep the state level authorities updated on the inspections that take place in UP government schools from time to time, now co-coordinators will have to carry out the inspection via an Android app.
- The app, which can be downloaded from Google Play has certain pointers in place under which grading from A to D has to be given depending on the options given. The pointers include sufficient oral education, conduction of activities and usage of effective teaching learning lessons among others.
- The use of the app will save both use of paper as also time in preparing reports and sending them to higher authorities.
- The mobile app has been jointly prepared by State Council of Education Research and Training and United Nations Children’s Fund. The co-coordinators will be trained in operating the app and conducting inspection through it in December and in all probability, the inspections through the app will start from January.
- There are 4,110 co-coordinators in Uttar Pradesh — five each in 822 blocks — who will be trained in carrying out inspection via the app which is named Open Data Kit (ODK) Collect app.
