The process to affix new number plates in old vehicles is likely to begin this month.
The transport department is working on a plan to replace old number plates on vehicles purchased before April 1, 2019, with high-security number plates.

The high-security number plates are made of aluminium and are tamper-proof. They are also equipped with a chromium-based and self-destructive hologram, which is hot stamped on the plate.
