Uttar Pradesh bags best state award in Smart Cities contest

:Uttar Pradeshbagged the first position among states in the India Smart Cities Award contest. In the second round cities, Agra got the first and Varanasi the third position.

Besides, Varanasi got the first position under the theme ‘water’ for eco-restoration of Assi river and ‘Innovation Award’ forCovidinnovation. Besides, Varanasi got the second position in the smart cities’ city Leadership category.

This is the first time that states are being awarded under the smart cities mission. Madhya Pradesh bagged second position while Nadu grabbed third place.

UP was given the first prize among the states for taking up development of seven cities under the state smart cities scheme, which are Meerut, Ghaziabad,Ayodhya, Firozabad,Gorakhpur, Mathura-Vrindavan and Saharanpur. State Government has implemented a statesmart cityscheme in seven municipal corporations on the lines of the central scheme. CMYogi Adityanathtweeted that it was under the guidance of the Prime Minister and because of the committed effort of the UP government that the state has got the first position in the Indian Smart Cities Award contest.

Under the theme `economy‘, Agra won the award for the micro Skill development centre. Saharanpur got the first position for Covid innovation in the fourth round. Urban development minister Ashutosh Tandon said that it has been made possible because of the continuing guidance and review by the chief minister.

Deployment of INS Tabar

INS Tabar was deployed to participate in joint exercises with friendly navies in Europe and Africa.

The INDIAN NAVY‘s Talwar-class stealth frigate, INS Tabar, was built in Russia for the Indian Navy.

The ship, which is one of the Indian Navy’s first stealth frigates, is outfitted with a diverse array of weapons and sensors.

The ship is part of the Western Fleet of the Indian Navy, which is stationed in Mumbai and is part of the Western Naval Command.

Project Seabird – Naval Infrastructure Project

Project Seabird is a naval project involving the construction of a naval base.

About Project Seabird:

It is a naval infrastructure project involving the construction of a naval base at Karwar (Karnataka) on India’s west coast.

When completed, this $3 billion programme and effort will provide the INDIAN NAVY with its largest naval base on the west coast as well as the largest naval base east of the Suez Canal.

The new and expanded naval complex will be able to support a number of major warships, submarines, and yard craft.

A specialised dockyard repair and maintenance facility (including piers, wharfs, revetments, quay walls, etc.), covered dry berths for ships and submarines, new technology and advanced security and Communication systems, and a naval air station (including multiple runways, Hangars, housing, ordnance handling areas, Services, personnel support infrastructure, etc.), various public utility systems, and housing and residential areas in multiple locations are some of the other facilities of the base.

LiDAR Based Survey of Forest Areas

A detailed project report (DPR) based on LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) survey of forest areas in 10 states was released.
