UP govt earmarks Rs 783 cr for improvement of education in minority-dominated areas
The Uttar Pradesh government has earmarked Rs 783 crore in its 2020-21 budget for improvement of education and basic infrastructure facilities under the ‘Pradhanmantri Jan Vikas Karyakram’ in minority-dominated areas.
Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) seeks to provide better socio economic infrastructure facilities to the minority communities particularly in the field of education, health & skill development which would further lead to lessening of the gap between the national average and the minority communities with regard to backwardness parameters.
The Programme aims to address development deficits in the identified minority concentration areas. The identification of minority concentration areas has been done on the basis of presence of substantial population of notified Minority Communities based on Census, 2011. The inclusion of Minority Concentration District Headquarters along with the Minority Concentration Towns having population more than 25,000, Minority Concentration Blocks and Cluster of Villages as per Census, 2011 data, will extend the coverage of population of minority communities.

Jewar Airport in Gautam Buddh Nagar
The Uttar Pradesh government allotted a fund of Rs 2,000 crore for the Jewar Airport in Gautam Buddh Nagar.
A budget of Rs 2,000 crore has been proposed for the Noida International Greenfield Airport in Gautam Buddh Nagar’s Jewar. The airport is expected to go operational by 2023
The UP government on Tuesday presented a Rs 5,12,860.72 crore budget for FY 2020-21 in the state assembly.

Budget 2020-21 Key Points
The government also earmarked Rs 18 crore for the construction of a “vedic vigyan kendra” under Kashi Hindu Vishwavidyalaya.
The budget provides for Rs 8 crore subsidy for the Kailash Mansarovar yatra and Rs 10 lakh for Sindhu Darshan.
The budget proposed Rs 50 crore to promote tourism units under the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Policy-2018.
Development of Garhmuketshwar in Hapur district to conserve cultural and ancient heritage, development of water sports in Ramgarh Taal in Gorakhpur, construction of heliports at important tourist centres and the implementation of 46 tourism schemes have also been proposed in the budget.
